Buhari Writes National Assembly Requesting To Withdraw 2016 Budget For ‘Amendments’

buhariPresident Muhammadu Buhari has finally written to the Nationally Assembly requesting the withdrawal of the 2016 Appropriation Bill.

According to the newspaper, the president’s letter was addressed to Senate President,Bukola Saraki, and Speaker of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara.

The request followed the controversy that has trailed the status of the original document in the past week. The Senate initially announced that the budget was missing only for it to later declared that the copy in its possession was different from the original budget Pres. Buhari submitted to the National assembly. SSA to the President on National Assembly Matters, Senator Ita Enang was accused of swapping the budget.

It was gathered that Buhari had discovered after presenting the 2016 budget to the National Assembly that some of the figures proposed for operations in the Presidency and the State House inflated. The budget has come under intense criticism with people pointing out that the budget was not different from that of his predecessor.

Buhari has promised to cut cost, reduce waste in public spending and run a prudent financial management.
