FT Review⚽: Man City 0⃣-1⃣ Man Utd♦

It was a case of 'what might have been'🙆 for Manchester City, after they failed to convert their dominance on the ball to goals. United♦, meanwhile, have gained an absolutely vital victory✌ that keep their top four hopes alive.

After trailing to an early goal from Marcus Rashford, City started the 2⃣nd half on the wrong foot. An early mistake😟 from Demichelis meant Hart had to overstretch himself to prevent✋ Martial from scoring and injured himself in the process. Caballero replaced him but was rarely tested in goal😕. City had plenty of chances to equalise - Aguero hit the post in the 67th😱 and also missed several golden opportunities. Bony and Navas were also guilty of squandering chances.

LvG👔 brought on Schweinsteiger for Mata late on as he sought to defend his team's one-goal lead⚽. City pressed hard in search of an equaliser but United were resolute at the back✋. The stat which said City had around 25 shots on goal to United's 5 but had only 3 on target to United's 4 said the story of the match😳. United have now whittled down City's lead over them to just 1⃣ point👏.
