Ibrahimovich sets new record of highest goals in a single season for PSG

The Sweden international is now PSG's highest scorer in a single Ligue 1 season, breaking the record set by Carlos Bianchi in 1978.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic has set a new record in his final Ligue 1 match by becoming Paris Saint-Germain's highest ever goalscorer in a single season.

The Sweden international scored twice in Saturday's 4-0 victory over Nantes to end the Ligue 1 season on 38 goals, surpassing the 37 goals Carlos Bianchi registered with PSG in the 1977-78 campaign.

Earlier this week Ibrahimovic confirmed that he will be leaving the French champions when his contract expires this summer but has yet to announce his next club.

PSG also confirmed that the 34-year-old will return to the club as a coach.

After his goal on Saturday, Ibrahimovic left the pitch to a standing ovation before the final whistle, even though Laurent Blanc had made all three substitutions.
