The wife of the President, Mrs Aisha Buhari has promised to work with relevant agencies to tackle issues of rape, forced and early marriage, continuing prevalence of HIV and drug abuse among youths in Northern Nigeria.
Mrs Buhari stated this when she received the wives of northern governors who paid her a courtesy visit at the State House, Abuja on Monday, October 31. The Northern Governors wives forum had earlier met to discuss these key challenges and ways of tackling them.

Mrs Aisha Buhari commended the northern governors wives forum for identifying these challenges and emphasized her readiness to work with them to make sure that societal ills in the country are addressed. Also speaking, the wife of Kebbi State Governor Dr. Zainab Bagudu, said they came to felicitate with the president and the wife of the President on the recent release of some of the Chibok schoolgirls.

Dr Bagudu also said there was a big improvement of the security situation in Nigeria, especially in the north east.
