FEDERAL GOVERNMENT APPOINTS MR EAZI AND TIMI DAKOLO AS ANTI-TOBACCO AMBASSADORS


The Federal Government of Nigeria has designated Artists Timi Dakolo and Mr Eazi as Anti-Tobacco lead campaigners. Saadatu Aliyu of the World Economic Forum's Abuja Global Shapers Hub joins the twosome.

Their arrangement was declared by the Ministry of Health, on June 15th 2017 in Abuja. Their arrangement is a piece of a six months national tobacco control interchanges crusade, and the artistes were dispatched to use on their impact with youthful Nigerians

The battle is a follow up to the Minister of Health, Isaac Adewole's declaration on zero resilience to Tobacco in the nation.

The Minister had amid the World No Tobacco Day reported nine directions in the Nigeria Tobacco Control Act 2015 to be implemented by the Federal Government.

The National Tobacco Control Act was marked into law in 2015 by previous President Goodluck Jonathan.

As indicated by the service's announcement, "The Tobacco-Free Nigeria' crusade, intends to instruct Nigerians on the NTC Act 2015 and bring issues to light on the risks of tobacco smoke.

"The crusade will use via web-based networking media and disconnected communications to achieve youthful Nigerians, particularly second-hand smokers who should know about the boycott of smoking out in the open places and ensure themselves."
