N50,000 bail: I spent four days in cell, paid N29,000 –Driver

The driver of a complainant in a case of alleged theft, Mr. Oluwaseun Sodiya, has said he was arrested and illegally detained by men of the Anti-Kidnapping and Anti-Cultism Squad of the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department, Lagos State, for four days.
The 38-year-old alleged that his family was forced by the police team, headed by CSP Akinade Adejobi, to pay N29,000 for bail.

This is just as the Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Edgal Imohimi, constituted a committee headed by the Commander of the Rapid Response Squad, Olatunji Disu, to probe allegations of bribery and sexual molestation levelled against the officers at the Anti-Kidnapping and Anti-Cultism Squad.

The police boss also said the theft case should be returned to the Ikoyi Police Division.
