OPEN LETTER TO ACADEMIC STAFF UNION OF UNIVERSITIES (ASUU), FEDERAL UNIVERSITY OF TECHNOLOGY, AKURE (FUTA) CHAPTER.

"When you help your children to achieve what they have decided upon, you have achieved as a parent and you have given them the greatest blessing of all"

Without any iota of doubt, the entire Class' 17 is a house built by ASUU, a by-product of its immense labour for atleast five years, the aforementioned class can be regarded as consortium of graduates in view of intellectual impartation of ASUU to every member of the set. Moreover, a substantial number of the students' populace has become your adopted sons and daughters by virtue of the robust relationship that exists between the duo. In the sojourn of life, you have contributed to our intellectual development which has enhance our ability to compete with our colleagues outside the four walls of FUTA and beyond.

If the Class'17 Sodality is clamouring to be mobilized for NYSC today, it is because you have trained us well enough to take time management as a crucial part of our daily endeavors, permit us to specially reference Prof. (Mrs) Ola and some other lecturers that took us GNS 101 and 102 in our 100 level days, they repeatedly told us how important it is to have a good and realistic time management. Also, all our great lecturers across diverse departments have demonstrated the same thing practically in action throughout our years on campus in multidimensionality. Sire, we are exhibiting what you have successfully enrooted in our heart of hearts and perhaps genes. We are very grateful that despite all odds in the country's educational system, you can still afford to infix the content within you in us as imperishable gift. "Education is the only thing that can be given and cannot be collected back" You have given us life.
Indubitably, we know that the quality you have imparted in us will go along way in reviving the dilapidated state of our dear Nation, and hopefully one day, Nigeria will go beyond having disrupted issues with her power house (Institutions), we are hoping on God and your intellectual deposition in us, with this two factors, we can hardly fail.

Our bone of contention as a class is not to hold you responsible for any shortcomings that might be occurring to us because we believe that it remains your right to demand for your reward of service, it is both ethically and religiously correct. However, we meekly ask you to take a look at the house you successfully built, we need you to rescue the house now. It is obvious that any further delay to our mobilization, is giving the other schools' graduates an undue advantage over us in labour market, which is a zone of immense struggle and tight competition. Needless to say, if we are not mobilized now, some of the members of this set might still be in service till 2020. In view of our experience and dealings with you, we know you do not want this to happen to us, you have constitently played roles of fathers and mothers while you perform your duties as our tutors and mentors. Please, save your house, save us. This time would never come again to us if wasted.

We quite understand what is happening in the University presently. The reputation and value FUTA has been sustaining is as a result of everyone's collective interest and contribution to make it that way, the mutual relationship has also enhance adequate disposition of innovation and creativity, kindly use the agelong truth to our set advantage.

In an humble tone void of equivocation, we appeal to our amiable lecturers under the leadership of affable ASUU, FUTA Chairman to reconsider their position on the issue of withholding our results, so that we can be mobilized in due time for NYSC. Kindly, consider the future of thousands of young minds.

'We will continue to water the beautiful mentality planted in us about our institution'.

Thanks in Anticipation.

Signed:

FUTA CLASS' 17
